A recent study published in the Medical Journal of Australia has found a significant increase in the risk of stroke associated with taking the painkiller Vioxx. The drug was pulled from the market in 2004 due to high reports of heart attacks for patients taking it. However, the study also found Vioxx had the strongest likelihood of any 8 of the painkillers tested to raisethe chances of a stroke. Overall, Vioxx raised the rate of strokes by over 75%.
