Pedestrian Mary Friman was struck by an SUV as she walked in a crosswalk in Petaluma. Friman, who was 97 years-old, later died from her injuries at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Santa Rosa. Friman was crossing Ely Boulevard South in Petaluma at the time of the collision. The driver of an SUV making a left-turn didn’t see Friman and hit her. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. Police believe the sun may have obscured the driver’s vision.
