Sixteen passengers were injured when two Amtrak passenger trains crashed in a head-on collision. Investigation continues, but it appears one of the trains ran a red light. The crash happened at Webster Street and Embarcadero when an Amtrak train traveling 15 to 20 mph hit a stopped Amtrak train. Authorities report that most of the sixteen injured passengers and crew were from the stopped train. This is the second Amtrak collision in as many weeks which has ended in injuries.
