Federal regulators are warning consumers that some websites are selling fake versions of the ADHD drug Adderall. Adderall is currently in short supply in the United States. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has learned of at least two cases in which consumers received counterfeit versions of Adderall. The fake pills are not only ineffective, but according to the FDA, may be harmful. In a statement, the FDA urged consumers to be “extremely cautious” when purchasing medications online. The fake pills come in boxes that often have misspelling. The pills themselves are white and unmarked. The real Adderall pills are orange or peach-colored and come embossed with “dp” on one side and “30″ on the other.
