Pfizer has recalled roughly a million packets of Lo/Ovral-28 and generic Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol pills. According to Pfizer, the packets are supposed to have 21 “active” pills and 7 “inert” placebos. The recalled packets may have the wrong ratio of active to inert pills and in the wrong sequence. While this mistake does not have health risks, it may leave women with inadequate birth control protection and at risk for unintended pregnancies. The packets were sent to warehouses, clinics and pharmacies all around the country.
