Zhen Guang Ng, 86, Killed in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident

Zhen Guang Ng, 86, was struck by a Ford pickup truck near the intersection of Naples and Rolph Streets in San Francisco’s Crocker-Amazon neighborhood. He was brought to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The driver, Giampaolo Bochetti, 69, of San Francisco, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, but was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.

Zhen Guang Ng was one of three pedestrian fatalities in the Bay Area on New Year’s eve. Sophia Liu, 6, was killed in the Tenderloin after an Uber driver struck her and her family. Her mother sustained serious injuries and her younger brother is expected to survive. Ashley Capuchin, 19, was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Fremont. A three-month-old baby boy and Ashley’s 17-year-old sister were also injured in the collision.
