About

Brad L.W. Bowen is a highly experienced trial attorney at Rouda Feder Tietjen & McGuinn who focuses on helping clients recover after catastrophic loss. His practice centers on wildfire litigation, where he works to hold corporations and utility companies accountable for the devastating harm their negligent actions can cause. He believes in educating the client on the process, what to expect, and potential outcomes.

Mr. Bowen has worked on more than 20 wildfire cases nationwide, representing thousands of individuals, families, businesses, and trusts impacted by major fire events, including claims against Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). He has helped lead large legal teams in complex wildfire proceedings that resulted in significant awards, such as a groundbreaking $1.8 billion recovery for people through the Fire Victim Trust. In cases regarding the Maui Fires, Brad worked extensively on more than 300 Maui Fire households, including businesses of all sizes, and helped secure $25 million for an affected resort and $13 million for a marijuana grow and processing company. His experience also includes serving as lead counsel in complex vehicle injury cases and mass tort matters, including PFAS litigation.

Brad has certificates from Harvard Business School Online in Financial Accounting and the University of Colorado at Boulder in Applied Business to better understand and represent the interests of his business clients. He has represented community groups, religious centers, non-profits, sole proprietorships, and businesses with more than $20 million in annual revenue.

Before focusing on civil litigation, Mr. Bowen served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. There, he developed the investigative precision and courtroom skills required to manage complex cases, especially those that involve detailed evidence, high stakes, and a business’s prospects. That prosecutorial background continues to inform his thorough preparation and strategic approach as a plaintiff’s attorney.

At the heart of Mr. Bowen’s practice is a commitment to helping people and businessowners through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He believes in listening closely to clients, understanding the full scope of their losses, and telling their stories in a way that displays the true impact of an accident or disaster.

A San Francisco native who was raised on the Peninsula, Mr. Bowen earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, and holds a double major in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of Colorado Boulder. During law school, he interned with the Bar Association of San Francisco Homeless Advocacy Project and worked as a Social Security advocate assisting unhoused individuals, experiences that continue to shape his compassionate, purpose-driven approach to the law.

When not at work, Brad likes rooting for CU Boulder and Bay Area sports teams and getting out into nature with his wife, two young children, and dog, Butte.
