KRON4 recently featured Partner Loren Schwartz discussing his lawsuit representing a San Francisco nanny crossing Chestnut Street at Laguna Street with a 2-year-old in a stroller when they were hit by a pickup truck.
The lawsuit alleges the driver made an unsafe turn into the crosswalk, striking our client and throwing her several feet. Loren told KRON4 that she suffered significant orthopedic injuries to her left ankle, knee and hip, as well as a mild traumatic brain injury.
Loren noted that while additional safety measures, such as flashing lights or a raised crosswalk, could improve the intersection, drivers still have a responsibility to operate safely around pedestrians. The 2-year-old's mother has also taken local action, communicating with local government officials and advocating for improved pedestrian safety measures in the area.
