On July 14, 2025, Alice Brock went to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto for a myelogram and routine scan to evaluate the functioning of her spinal baclofen pump, a device delivering medication directly into the spinal fluid. Within hours of the procedure, she allegedly lost the ability to move her legs. Details of the Botched Spinal Injection Lawsuit
A myelogram is a diagnostic imaging test in which contrast dye is injected into the intrathecal space, helping providers assess whether a baclofen pump system is working properly. According to the lawsuit, doctors used Omnipaque 350 for the injection, a drug the FDA has warned about and placed under a boxed warning for use within the spinal canal because of risks including death, seizures, and paralysis.
The lawsuit alleges our client's neurological functioning declined over several hours until she was no longer able to move her legs. The lawsuit also alleges she was never told she would receive Omnipaque 350 and never gave informed consent for the injection.

The complaint accuses them of professional negligence and medical battery, a claim tied to treatment performed without proper consent, and seeks damages including loss of consortium.
