Timothy Tietjen and Cynthia McGuinn are recognized in the news for their work to help two children recover from injuries caused by diseased trees falling on them while they slept. On two separate occasions, a diseased tree fell and landed on Zachary Rowe and Alana Moyer while camping with their families within designated campgrounds. Argued in these cases is that people who go camping have a reasonable expectation of safety since they pay a fee to stay and the campgrounds are clearly maintained. Zachary Rowe was camping at Memorial Park in San Mateo and Alana Moyer was camping at Portola Redwood State Park.
