Johny William Alonzo-Castillo Killed in San Francisco Hit-And-Run Collision

A San Francisco hit-and-run collision claimed the life of Johny William Alonzo-Castillo on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

Castillo, a 26-year-old Daly City resident, was driving on Cesar Chavez Street near Folsom Street around 2:00 a.m. when another vehicle ran a red light and slammed into his car. The force of the crash sent one car into a third car. The driver of the third car suffered minor injuries. Castillo was rushed to the hospital and died hours later.

The car that ran a red light was a black, 4-door Infiniti, according to San Francisco Police Officer Albie Esparza. The driver and multiple passengers from the Infiniti fled the scene. One passenger stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Three days later, Jamie Linares, 25, of San Francisco, turned himself into police. A $1 million warrant was issued for his arrest. He was currently on felony probation for a felony conviction and has since been booked into San Francisco County Jail.

San Francisco Police encourage anyone with information about this accident to call 415-575-4444.
