Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Cassandra Buck, the woman who died in a pedestrian accident last night.
Cassandra Buck, 26, of Los Angeles, was killed when a driver of an SUV backed into her. The collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Weibel Way in San Jose. Cassandra was crushed between the vehicle and a garage door.
Monica Johnson, 27, of Campbell, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. Police investigators believe that the driver knew Cassandra and that both women were in the same vehicle at some point in the evening. Investigators also found beer cans near the scene of the crash.
The tragic incident is San Jose’s 34th traffic fatality of the year, and the 21st involving a pedestrian.
